Well after bringing it down to the wire, Congress finally came to an agreement, and a huge budget cut, but nonetheless an agreement. It was actually an interesting experience for me, sitting down watching C-Span 2 all afternoon, wondering what the heck was going on, and listening to Democrat after Democrat talk about the same old nonsense, which was wasting valuable time they could have been using to fix the problem. As annoying as it was, still a good experience, and hope this does not happen again in the near future. Good news is now military and government members don’t have to worry about not getting paid/getting furloughed, and we are all good right where we are, and I will be coming home next weekend to enjoy two weeks with my wonderful family, friends and girlfriend! It’s going to be awesome. Can’t wait to see all of you!

So I stood duty yesterday, only to have to get stuck on the fire watch section today (Saturday, my day off) only to not have to stand fire watch and have to stay there anyways until 5pm, which ruined my trip to Bellingham this weekend. Then there was a huge accident/fire in West Seattle on the main road, so I had to drive 3 miles on back roads that had giant speed bumps every 100 feet, then to get back on the main road and hit every single red light back to my house. Thank you Lord for giving me patience! What a day :)

I like this song a lot. Just heard it for the first time the other day, it’s very chill and laid back, so enjoy!
-The High Ground by Broken Bells
I have to say that it was a series of people mourning the loss of my Grandfather back when I was a sophomore in high school. It was definitely tragic for me, and extremely heart wrenching because Grampa taught me so much! Holding my Grammy while she cried and cried had to be the most heart wrenching thing I’ve witnessed, especially since my heart was already wrenched from the shock of this sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one.
I have a great time at work most of the time. I feel like I’m learning things and advancing in my career everyday, especially when I am put in charge of certain things and am expected to get it done. You know what really grinds my gears? When I’m trying to work on something, and people from other departments of the ship, or Chiefs from other departments come and try to tell us what to do for them and tell us it needs to get done that minute. We have a work request system for a reason. I’m not really sure what it is in people that make them think they can come down and tell us what they need done is first priority, because it most definitely is not. Well that’s just my little vent session for today.
I had the unpleasant experience of a Colonoscopy today, as many of you may already know. I figured I’d give an update for anyone that did not know about this. Good knews is that they ruled out Crohn’s Disease, which is awesome, and that everything looks good. I’m waiting on results form the biopsy that would hopefully tell me if I have some sort of food allergy or something like that. I’ll tell you what, the prep was not pleasant, and the procedure is odd, but don’t worry if you ever have to get one, it was a breeze. I just really hope they can finally figure out what is wrong so that I can stop being sick all the time.
